Bi-monthly Devotional January/2017
January Devotion,
January represents a New Beginning as we start the celebration of the New Year. We welcome our new Bishop, Rev. Dr. Clement W. Fugh, our new WMS Episcopal Supervisor, Alexia Butler Fugh, and we celebrate Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday.
“Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth. Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness.”
Isaiah 43:18, 19 (NKJV)
Giving thanks to you Lord, we know we can accomplish great things with you that we never could without you. You have restored our hope and made our lives brand-new. Thank You Lord for this New Year, and for this opportunity to start afresh.
Let us not cling to the trials and difficulties we faced in 2016. Instead, let us move forward into 2017 with new insight and embrace all the new things that God wants to do in us and through us. The most important step to embracing these new things that God wants to do is to commit to his plan. We must be willing to see ourselves as God sees us.
As we take the leap of faith into a blessed 2017, let us remember to give thanks to Almighty God for carrying us through 2016.
